Konferenzhinweis: e-Social Science in Köln

Man bat uns unlängst, den folgenden Hinweis auf die 5th International Conference on e-Social Science, die im Juni in Köln stattfindet, zu verteilen und wir kommen dieser Bitte selbstverständlich sehr gern nach:

The annual international conference on e-Social Science is this year being held in Cologne from 24th-26th June. Its aim is to bring together leading representatives of the social science, e-Infrastructure, cyberinfrastructure and e-Research communities in order to improve mutual awareness and promote coordinated activities to accelerate research, development and deployment of powerful, new methods and tools for the social sciences and beyond. Alphabet Street: Eine Schulbibliothek in der Bronx (dargestellt in der New York Times)

Da das ib.weblog, sonst Hauptanlaufpunkt für solche Mitteilungen, leider wieder seinen Sabbat eingelegt hat, gibt es den Hinweis auf einen aktuellen Beitrag in der New York Times über die Schulbibliothek der Public School 47 in der  Bronx mitsamt Link an dieser Stelle: A Is for Artwork That Lures Bronx Schoolchildren to New Libraries.

Dies passt in gewisser Weise auch in den Zusammenhang dieser geplanten Veranstaltung.

Interessanterweise schließt der Artikel mit dem Hinweis auf eine Grafik, die auch Anne Mostad-Jensen an das Ende ihres Beitrags zum Impact of Economic Recessions on Libraries in der aktuellen LIBREAS-Ausgabe stellt:
